Introduction: How I Got into Adult Coloring

Hi! Welcome to my coloring blog! When I was a student at a local Christian college, my spiritual formation group leader introduced me to adult coloring. I remembered enjoying various coloring experiences as a kid through VBS, school, and activities I had done at home, but this was something different. My SFG leader used coloring to relax, so she encouraged us to use it during stressful moments at school. After I graduated, I settled into a busy schedule and didn't have much time to color.

About seven years ago, I started getting back into coloring. I bought several coloring books from Amazon and other retailers to build my collection. I also researched various brands of colored pencils, gel pens, and markers to see which ones would be suitable for my needs (I bought most of my sets after reading thorough reviews). Since some colored pencils work better on certain types of paper than others, I performed experiments using smooth and rough paper in coloring books. I made swatch charts of my pencils, gel pens, and markers as I bought each set. Soon, my art room started looking like a hobby store! 😂

In future posts, I would like to share information that might be beneficial to other colorists. Hopefully, I will also post YouTube videos that correspond with some of my content. 😀
